Their fathers - who were close friends - formed the partnership that paid for, built and still operates the United Center. Reinsdorf remembers attending the last national political convent...

They did not get a call; rather, they responded to smoke they could see from their Engine Company 24 fire house.  School bus driver on leave after Halloween candy cannabis scare Fire Captain Garon Mosby said, “The first arriving officer felt that he had time to get in there and do a quick search. Obviously, these do not start by themselves.”Capt. Mosby said the second floor partially collapsed on the firefighter, who caught himself.  He explained, "Instinctively, you spread out, which is what he di...

LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Police recruits are learning what to do in domestic violence situations through role-playing at the St. Louis County Police Academy. "Learning in an environment like this where the role players aren't going to harm them is an important step in them learning what to do," said Detective Liz Edwards, St. Louis County Domestic Violence Unit. On Thursday, police recruits answered mock calls that lasted less than 20 minutes. Detective Edwards said the mock calls are a chance for the recruits to develop a gut instinct.  Florida kidnapping victims rescued from downtown St. Louis hotel "When we walked in the house or the door opened, the female had a lot of lacerations to her face, as well as a lot of furniture that was displaced that normally shouldn't have been.
