Flying wheel smashes windshield, strikes several vehicles on Hwy. 401 in Toronto A driver is facing charges after their vehicle lost a wheel and struck several other vehicles in a scary moment on Highway 401.The incident occurred on Thursday evening in the westbound lanes of the highway near Dixon Road.Police say the rear drivers side wheel came off of a Ford Edge SUV and bounced into a number of other vehicles on the highway.Photos provided by Ontario Provincial Police show one of the vehicles’ windshields smashed in.Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.The driver of the SUV has been charged.Wheel off – #Hwy401 WB near Dixon Rd.
