SF Giants notes: Late first pitch Sunday vs. Rockies, when Alex Cobb will make his next start, a Marco Luciano update

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 03:16:43 GMT

SAN FRANCISCO — This three-game set against the last-place Rockies, like them all, Giants manager Gabe Kapler said before Friday’s series opener, presents his reeling club “a great opportunity.”“It’s really all about how we keep bouncing back and getting off the mat and continuing to fight,” Kapler said. “You’re going to go through really bad times over the course of a major-league season. Coming off a 1-6 road trip, falling back to .500 and 2½ games out of playoff position, the Giants’ series against the Rockies can be viewed one of two ways: a postseason hopeful looking to save its playoff chances or a meeting of the National League’s two worst teams since the trade deadline.Either would be true, which makes ESPN’s decision to select Sunday’s game for primetime even more puzzling. In case you missed it, ...

Police and licensed security guards are exempt from the temporary ban.The order calls for “civil administrative penalties availably by law” that include a fine of up to $5,000, said Caroline Sweeney, a spokeswoman for the governor.People with concealed carry permits are still allowed transport guns to some private locations such as a gun range or gun store — provided...

NEW YORK (AP) — Christian Siriano marked 15 years in business Friday with Sia performing on his runway and a nostalgic, ballet-inspired fantasy on his models during New York Fashion Week.“I feel really proud of everything we’ve done,” he told The Associated Press backstage. “All the amazing people we’ve dressed and helped feel confident about themselves.”It wouldn’t be a Siriano milestone without longtime muse Coco Rocha sashaying down the runway in something dramatic. This time, it was at a luxury New York landmark hotel, The Pierre, and this time, she wore a frothy pink ballet gown adorned with multicolored paillettes as her hair swung freely and Sia peeked out from behind a huge white wig topped with a pink bow. And it wouldn’t be a Siriano show without a starry front row. Janet Jackson, Quinta Brunson, Kesha, Rosie Perez, Laura Linney and Avril Lavigne were among his guests. In a way, Siriano went back to his roots. Among his earliest inspirations was his sister...
